Here are answers to some of the questions you will have.. CAR HIRE - Hiring a car will certainly make it a lot simpler for you to move around. It is generally recommended that you book your car in advance in the UK. One Internet site you might try is www.autosabroad.com TAXI FROM THE AIRPORT - If you don't have a hire-car waiting at the airport Derek and Chrissie can arrange for a taxi to meet your flight. The cost (one way) from Faro airport to Jardim Da Nena is approximately 50/60 euros. A driver will be waiting with your name on a card. LOCAL TRANSPORT - The bus station is a ten minute walk away, in Lagoa, and buses are fairly frequent - depending on where you want to go, of course. SHOPPING - It is only a ten minute walk into Lagoa, where there is a very good vegetable, meat and fish market. Not much further away, on the Carvoeiro road, there is a very good Intermarché supermarket. You can also walk across country to the Intermarché. RESTAURANTS - There are a couple of restaurants within walking distance and plenty of others further afield. Vegetarians should make themselves known as there are some restaurants which cater for them. HOW FAR IS THE BEACH? - The beach is about 4 kms away, but there are at least 17 different bays in the vicinity. Ask for directions/recommendations. ROOM SIZES - Most of the apartment bedrooms and living rooms are 5m x 4m. The Studio is about 5m x 4m. ROOM FACILITIES - The Studio and One-bedroom apartments have a Microwave (with grill), 2 ring electric hob, toaster, kettle and fridge. The Two-bedroom apartment has a gas cooker with oven instead of an electric hob and microwave.
